Modern Slavery Policy

Generis Corporate Finance Limited

Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Generis Corporate Finance Limited has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Generis Corporate Finance Limited has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.

Our Business

Generis Corporate Finance Limited is a corporate finance advisory firm providing specialist M&A and boardroom support services to businesses primarily in the UK, EMEA, and USA markets. We operate in the £1m-£150m revenue range and focus on delivering strategic insight and trusted execution for our clients.

Our Policies

We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Code of Conduct: Our code makes it clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the organisation. We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour.
  • Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all employees, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, the organisation. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.
  • Recruitment Policy: We operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.

Our Supply Chain

Due to the nature of our business, we assess ourselves to have a low risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains. Our supply chain is limited and is predominantly UK-based, consisting of professional service providers including legal firms, accountants, technology providers, and office suppliers.

Due Diligence

We undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly review our existing suppliers. Our due diligence and reviews include:

  • Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier;
  • Reviewing on a regular basis all aspects of our supply chain based on the supply chain mapping we have undertaken;
  • Conducting supplier audits or assessments where appropriate;
  • Ensuring that our supply contracts include provisions requiring suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Training

We provide awareness and training to our staff about the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. Our employees are encouraged to identify and report any potential breaches of our policy.

Our Effectiveness

We will assess the effectiveness of our approach to ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our business or supply chain by:

  • Reviewing our supply chain management processes and supplier contracts on a regular basis;
  • Maintaining internal reporting mechanisms for potential breaches of our policies;
  • Taking appropriate action where any concerns are raised.

Further Steps

We are committed to continuous improvement of our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking. We will continue to review and update our policies and procedures as necessary to ensure that they remain effective and compliant with current legislation.
